Gold price per gram versus the quoted gold price
Gold markets quote pure-metal value per troy ounce. One troy ounce is 31.1035 grams, so the pure-gold price per gram is the visible ounce price ÷ 31.1035. A kitchen-scale ounce is 28.3495 grams and is not a troy ounce; the conversion table keeps the two separate.
Karat changes contained value, not the market price
The market input is the same for every row. Karat states the gold share: 18K is 18/24, 14K is 14/24, and 10K is 10/24.
